This 15 week course introduces students to the interdisciplinary field of Peace and Conflict Studies. It explores the basic concepts, theories, and practices of peace, conflict, and security within local, regional, and global contexts. Emphasis is placed on understanding conflict prevention, the conflict dynamics, peacebuilding approaches, conflict resolution and the relevance of African indigenous knowledge systems, especially in Uganda and the Great Lakes Region.
